With “unmusical” DACs, think about the banding in the sky in low-res digital photos–the inability to smoothly run through subtle shades of the same hue. That’s what happens in noisier, less optimized digital products; there’s an inability to present the subtle shading that makes music human and real. All those little echoes, instrument decays, and minute resonances are buried under the noise floor of lesser DACs, and hence the use of “digital’ as a pejorative.

The natural partner of the InPower MkII power amp, the InControl MkII is a fully balanced differential design using Tung-Sol ECC803S tubes. It uses the same big, clean VFD display as the InPol series, and the large aluminum volume knob offers 100 steps of high-precision, high dynamic range attenuation. The on-board headphone amp supplies 2 W at 32 ohm to drive most headphones on the market.

InPol Ear is a pure class-A integrated headphone amplifier, with a fully balanced latest generation double InPol. It features two balanced and one unbalanced output and allows the addition of the HiDac Mk2 converter.
InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare – Linear Pump Follower) is a Pathos patented system that allows for much greater output in pure Class A. This fully balanced circuit design uses a single solid-state component in follower configuration, with a high-current gain and voltage gain together.

PATHOS INPOL2 MKII is the evolution of the already well-known InPoL2, a historical exponent of the second generation of InPoL® amplifiers.
The InPoL2 MkII was born from the need to have more power on 4Ω (20% more) and, consequently, more BIAS current. We also wanted to improve the power supply of the power amp.

Kratos’ name directly comes from its most important feature: power. In Greek mythology, indeed, Kratos was the god of strength, might and power.
Kratos is based on Pathos’ hybrid circuit, with tubes pre-stage and Mosfet final stage; it has 200W for each channel.But that’s not all. Kratos’ pre-stage and final stage are clearly separated, with a prestigious pre-out and direct input to final stage; both pre-out and final stages are balanced XLR .

In 2002, long before other companies jumped on the tube hybrid bandwagon, Pathos opened the audio world’s eyes with the Logos: the first hybrid to capture so much of the magic of what a pure tube amplifier can produce, but without the maintenance. Pathos also created a design and package so inspiring and universally loved, it remained unchanged for well over ten years. When a product like Logos is so close to perfection, it’s difficult to improve it.  But with new power supply upgrades as well as a redesign of the tube preamp section, the MKII was born.

Balanced Stereo Preamplifier
Overview
This new balanced preamplifier represents the state-of-the-art of Pathos technology and is a worthy partner of the Adrenaline power amp.
The bottom half of the two-chassis design contains a power supply and all control and display circuitry, and the top half contains the analog signal stages, kept far away from electrically noisy parts. Each section has its own ground. The connection between the two stages is via photo-couplers for complete separation and to avoid ground loops.
